Ok, so before you say this isn’t like real banana bread. What is banana bread? It’s a taste isn’t it? Well this version has all the taste and more. Plus it’s healthier and you can whip it up in minute.
There’s no reason we’ve got to do things the way they’ve always been done. I know I love the taste of banana bread but that doesn’t mean I’m going to spend half my day whipping up a batch. Nor am I going to buy store versions loaded with sugar and oils.
So I came up with this banana bread version one morning and it is delicious. You get the taste of banana bread without all the work. Plus this version is healthier so you get energy packed banana bread with a bunch of walnuts, banana and a protein-packed peanut or nut butter. Give this a try. You will love it.
Ingredients
1 slice whole wheat bread
1 banana
2 tbsp peanut butter or nut butter of choice
handful walnuts, chopped
a drizzle of maple syrup
Instructions
Toast your slice of bread until it’s golden brown.
Slather your nut butter on your toast.
Slice your banana into thin circles and place on top of toast.
Sprinkle walnuts on top and drizzle with maple syrup.
Super easy and super delicious.
