According to Forbes there are close to 140 billionaire in India. That is the same country in which the lack of oxygen access is killing thousands of coronavirus patients.
Daily cases of the coronavirus have shot up to 400,000, which is a record in a category no one wants to win. The ruling government has spent the past few months holding election rallies across the country. That government has not only held those rallies, but encourages thousands of people to attend them sans mask or social distancing.
Most recently a massive Hindu festival was allowed to go ahead. Millions of people were allowed to attend the Kumbh Mela as recently as April 16. It is believed this particular could very easily have been a super spreader. While the government seems to be as close to AWOL without being AWOL as possible, Indians are turning to social media for help.
This help they are seeking is immediate and ranges from oxygen tanks to medicine to hospital beds. Canada, the US, the UK, Germany, France, Russia and other countries have already sent medical supplies, ventilators, and medicine.
