The Dying Gaul

I felt as though the sculpture was going to get up and embrace me or attack me. It is more life-like in terms of expression and being than the people you meet in everyday life. I went to the Capitoline Museums when there were not many tourists. So, I was there alone with him. And the creation of him actually made me feel like he would get up at any second.

I went around the sculpture multiple times. It felt alive. He was in the moment of defeat and accepting it, so beautiful. The Dying Gaul is the most alive sculpture I have seen in my life. He was created 2000 years ago. He is still so alive.
